Bath Harbor in Bath in Maine is the reason why the city is called and considered the 'City of Ships.' The harbor makes Bath a good and ideal port of entry from and into the state. For quite some time, Bath Harbor has been regarded as a good harbor that facilitates important shipment transactions. In history, the harbor has been noted as the site where the first ever ocean-going ship had a river launch. After that, Bath has been identified on the map as a shipbuilding center.

Bath Harbor has also been an ideal entry port where tourists get to the city. Because of that, Bath has become a popular tourist destination with its fine and exquisite 19th-century architecture. The harbor is active all throughout the year but is having its heaviest traffic and activity during the period covering the annual Heritage Days Festival, which is regularly held every Fourth of July.

The Kennebec River empowers the Bath Harbor. After running past the city of Bath through the Bath Harbor, the river flows to the Gulf of Maine in the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, Kennebec has channels that link it to a host of many other rivers, including the Sandy River, the Carrabassett River and the Sebasticook River.
